Once the province of connoisseurs, Scotland’s distinctive
single-malt whiskies have enjoyed a growing popularity
among the general public. More so than blended
whiskies, single malts are a reflection of the places in
which they are created.
Veteran National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson, whose most recent
story for the magazine examined the rise of Celtic
consciousness in Europe, has assembled a strikingly
beautiful collection of images of the landscapes, watercourses,
and villages that collaborate to produce these
unique whiskies.
For this special presentation, he will be joined by whisky expert Dave Broom, a columnist for
Whisky Magazine, who will guide a tasting of a selection
of distinctive single malts representing Scotland’s
different whisky-making regions. This program will take
place in the National Geographic Dining Hall. Light
refreshments will be served.
All attendees must be 21 or older in order to attend this event. Presented with the assistance of Brewers United for Real Potables (BURP).
