Little Disneyland This is in Aqtau, Kazakhstan, on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea. On the beach they have a kind of little Disneyland: two swings and one café. In the background is one of those horrible Stalinist apartment buildings built during Soviet times. These people don’t look too happy, probably because the swings are so rusty. Even if you want to have fun, you have in the back of your mind the fear that something bad will happen. You hope that it will happen after you leave—or never. | |
